Hi Tara! The base of the wig was white, and the sharpies used were the regular purple and the regular blue. I believe there were about 5 purples and 2 blues of the regular size used, mixed with a low concentration of alcohol. The trick is to keep re-applying and making sure you cover all the sections of the wig.

Black ink in markers is usually a combination of colors, which usually includes a purple or blue. You can see color separation when you mark on a piece of paper and get it wet! Though applying it to the wig probably won't give you the results you are looking for - but if you would like to give it a try you can do a test patch on the underside of the wig where it won't be visible.

Hi! The color on your wig is gorgeous! I've been trying to achieve this exact shade on a light purple wig I have, but I can't seem to get it dark enough! What color sharpies did you use? I've. Been using purple, and very strong mixes, but its like half as dark as yours; did you use black sharpies? I've read that they turn purple but I'm scared to try!

Thanks!

Good stuff!

I don't go to a lot of conventions, but love cosplay. I am sometimes tempted to go to random places in costume for non-photo days, but I'm conflicted. I strongly believe in there being a time and place for things--immodesty, shocking attire, costumes may not maintain the order of things. That sounds boring, but really, each culture has it's way to do things. It can be distracting to see naked body parts in public places, a bright ballgown in a place of quiet study! Conversations will be interrupted and people may be even offended. Those people, too, need to be respected. When I went to a bookstore cafe in a costume--on Halloween, I got a few unhappy looks. Maybe it is because I'm well into adulthood. It made me sad, but more careful. Parks and places where various photo shoot locations are common for my photos, don't often bring too much surprise. Downtown in an event location area have been good. For after photos, I have relaxed in costume at a classy bar I am known at. Places with lots of young people seem better than a place with a mix of age groups. The more care you take, the more fun everyone has!

Please do not stretch/compress photos when doing thumbnails!
Always use a proportional scale and then crop to the thumbnail size. You make people look deformed when you use a disproportional scale D:
